Deaf Community Consultation – NDIS funding changes

Deaf Services and the Deaf Society are hosting an event with the NDIA to get feedback from the Deaf and hard of hearing community about some proposed changes to how you access your NDIS funding.

The NDIA wants to change the way you access your NDIS funding and they want to know your thoughts on this new process.

The NDIA’s plan is to have Deaf or hard of hearing people meet with a Health Care Practitioner to do an extra assessment on their abilities. The practitioner will then decide how much money the Deaf or hard of hearing person will get in their NDIA plan.

Come meet with the NDIA on Tuesday 2 February to find out more about their plan and to offer your feedback.

Auslan interpreters will be there as well as a COVID-19 safe plan to ensure everyone’s safety.
