ABOUT THE HEAR FOR KIDS TEAM

Hear for Kids is part of Deaf Services, the prominent service provider for deaf and hard of hearing community members across all ages. We provide speech language pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology and teacher of the deaf services across a number of programs, including NDIS.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Hear for Kids is seeking a part-time Physiotherapist to join our Brisbane team. This exciting role would suit a recent graduate PT who is passionate about working with deaf and hard of hearing infants and children and wants to be part of a committed and dynamic transdisciplinary team.

Collaborating with experienced allied health professionals you will provide transdisciplinary services for deaf and hard of hearing infants and children and will be responsible for screening, assessing and treating clients based on their individual needs/goals, writing reports and home programs, and providing family inclusive support.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate must have:

•    Tertiary qualifications in occupational therapy, 
•    The ability to handle a busy caseload and work independently and also cooperatively within a flexible structure
•    Knowledge of typical and atypical development 
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•    A strong interest in working with deaf and hard of hearing children
•    Experience with Auslan is highly regarded.


The applicant will be required to register with AHPRA; must have a current Queensland driver’s licence and their own vehicle (mileage reimbursed); and must be eligible for a Queensland Blue Card and NDIS worker screening.
